Week 4 - Monday Round-up (this time late!)

I'm writing this update from my phone as I sit on the sofa, watching Franklin and Bash, while Chris rubs my feet. The last few days seem to have been pretty hectic and I can't find time to relax AND to blog. This way I can at least attempt to do both at the same time!

This week has been pretty up and down. Can't particularly pinpoint for what reason, but it's certainly nothing serious.

Notable things that happened this week are; booking Lily's birthday party, receiving a speeding ticket, hitting 100 followers (on Bloglovin') and signing up for an online course.

Family life has been fairly stable. Now Chris is back at work and his shifts are up and down, we seem to appreciate our time together a little more. As always time with the kids is precious, to the point that this week my mum didn't even have the kids overnight so I didn't have to be without them.

I've given up on weight loss (temporarily at least), saving is still going well and I'm a little behind on both my movie watching and reading. Having switched our weekly shop from Tesco to Aldi, we are also discovering a huge amount of new and bargain food. However I did pop into Tesco this week and spotted this funny t-shirt.

Would you believe its for kids and starts around age 5-6?
Saturday night we had a games night at my house. There was eight of us in total and it was a lot of fun to socialise. We only ended up playing one game all night, which I hope to blog about shortly. On top of that Nat and I started the first of our "work from home brainstorming sessions". We'd set the task of thinking up five ideas for working from home/self employed. Each time we meet up we compare the five and see if there is anything viable. This is something we plan to do until we finally find "the one".

Finally the biggest news of the week is that next year we will be traveling to Florida! My mum has offered to take myself, Chris and the kids on holiday to Orlando so that we can visit Disney World and Universal Studios (Harry Potter!). I'm hugely excited and I can't wait to start planning. Luckily savings are underway already which is lucky since park tickets are going to total about £400 each. Oh well, it's a once in a lifetime holiday!!

That's pretty much it. Now at midnight we're heading to bed so I'll leave you with this picture of hairdye I bought this week. I can't wait to try (and blog about) this new ombre hair dye!

  1. I love that hair dye, I was tempted to try that before going all over red. I don't seem to understand what goes through some companies heads when you see tops aimed at such young people when it's nothing they would even understand. FLORIDA!! How exciting for you all! x
