I’m Sarah Elizabeth of Scandinavian On The Inside, and I’m incredibly excited to be guest posting here for Bel today – hasn’t she got a LOVELY blog? I’ve only been following her for a few months but she’s one of my new faves - being a firm Disney fanatic, awesome on twitter and as scatterbrained as me, it isn’t hard to see why! I’d like to thank Amy from Cocktails In Teacups for ‘introducing us’ in the first place, and it’s actually Amy that inspired the topic of today’s post as well – at least, her and my current obsession with shoehorning tulle skirts and Princess inspired accessories into every outfit I wear!
We all know that if you’re talking about princesses, the Disney gang are the firm favourites. Who didn’t grow up wanting to be Cinderella and envious of Belle’s library? Who hasn’t fallen in love with the ‘lights’ song in Tangled, and WHO DOESN’T LIKE FROZEN?! If you answered negatively to any of those, maybe you should stop reading now, because this post is for people who don’t just love Disney, it’s for people who want to BE Disney. Even now, when we’re all grown up. ESPECIALLY now we’re all grown up!
Sadly, the official costumes don’t come in adult sizes, so that’s where a bit of creativity and outfit planning comes in – it’s actually quite easy to create a princess inspired look from every day high street pieces (OK, a tulle skirt might not be an ‘everyday’ piece to you guys, but it is to me!) and below I’ve put together versions of my three favourite Princess dresses that could be worn at the weekend, to a wedding, to dinner, for a picnic…anywhere and anytime you want to feel a little bit special and inject some magic and nostalgia and joy into your day. The bits and pieces I’ve found are from simply googling ‘pink organza skirt/jelly shoes/star necklace’ etc, and there’s MILLIONS of similar items out there to find and be inspired by. So - go be a princess! I’d love to see your outfits, and any mood board ideas for the other princesses – Bel? Amy? ;)
