After a rubbish sort of a Sunday, the week got off to a rocky start! Bank Holiday Monday and unexpectedly I had the kids for the day. We managed to fill the day easily though, mostly with swimming, Harry Potter Lego game, shopping and relaxing. It was a good day!
Tuesday was back to work and school. It was a fairly average, typical sort of a week - but without trying to overshare, I've been on my period this week and incredibly teary/emotional. #WLW was a stay the same for weigh-in and even that was a bit depressing and demoralising. I think it threw me off for the week really.
Friday was a fairly terrible day, given that our roof started leaking -
and in all places, in the girls room. Chris had to ring around trying to
get people to come around the next day, while trying to take his CBT
all because I was stuck at work. Luckily we did get a couple of people around to see it but we're still waiting on a quote. One person mentioned £8000 for a new roof...
There were some highlights to the week though. I got some new make-up brushes through the mail on Wednesday. Chris and I, treated ourselves to Steak, Peppercorn sauce and Chips on Thursday and then we made real popcorn as Chris had never done it before. Friday Chris made Bacon bread and we had it with creamy garlic king prawns for dinner. TV wise, I caught up with OUAT with my brother on Tuesday night and watched HIMYM right up to the series end on Wednesday (crappy ending though!).
Finally, by Saturday the week took a turn for the better. Though the day itself was pretty stressful, I spent it with the girls tidying the house, the evening was incredibly enjoyable. I've been torn whether to post about Eurovision separately or not but I think its probably easier to just to add it in here. You'll have seen my post about the preparations for our Eurovision Party, well Saturday night it happened! Everyone arrived with food and drink representing their country, and dressed to represent too. I'd set up a table in the lounge, made little flag place holders and strung flags around the room. There was a score sheet printed out and we were all ready to go. The girls wanted to stay up for a while and since Amy's daughter was in the girls room, I let them stay up a while to make sure she fell asleep. Lily managed till about 9pm I think and Megan till 10pm.
As the Eurovision started, we all grabbed a drink and some food. I was already glad we'd arranged this night as it was nice to socialise without the need for a Murder Mystery party or games night. We ate, drank, laughed a lot and it was a lovely evening. When the Eurovision finished (and UK didn't win - no surprises there) someone suggested getting Rock Band out. With two guitars, two mics, a piano and a set of drums, we all participated playing Rock Band until the wee hours of the morning!
The next day I was not well, but all self inflicted so no sympathy! Luckily I had nothing much planned except taking Amy back to the station so other than that, the girls and I just did a bit of shopping and grabbed a McDonalds. Luckily by the end of Sunday I was feeling much better, though it felt like the weekend had flown by!
You may have noticed that I haven't posted my 19/52 of the girls this week either. I'll hopefully get it done tomorrow but in all honesty it went out of mind and every time I thought about it, they weren't around for me to take pictures! So till then...
Glad you felt better by Sunday evening, I haven't seen you that rough in years ;) I had an AMAZING time! Never laughed so much in ages and like you said, it was so nice to be together to socialise without the murder mystery. It made me realise how lucky I was to have such a fun group of friends. Just spent the last hour looking for bits for my costume for your birthday hehe. SO EXCITED! Hope you & Nat are going to try and look as porn-y as possible ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteYum! All the food from the Eurovision party looks delicious! I wish it was something they aired here so I could actually follow it. I guess I could find it online too but I only remember it's happening when it's near the end :P Anyway, I hope this week will be better than last! xx
