Birchbox (April) - A first look and breakdown for beginners

This is a little late (considering its May) but my box arrived just before I went on holiday at the beginning of April and then I just completely forgot all about it. My Birchbox was covered under a pile of paperwork and its only now that I'm beginning to anticipate my May box, that I realised I never blogged about the April one. So here it is!

People who read my blog regularly will know that March was my first ever Birchbox and also my first ever beauty blog. As such it was incredibly exciting to receive. I have to admit I wasn't -as- excited about this one and sadly the contents didn't appeal as much as the last one either.

The theme of this box, seems to be "Good Enough to Eat". There is a long, folded leaflet full of food related beauty, as well as recipes. One of the sheets includes a cupcake recipe, straight from The Hummingbird Bakery cookbook.

The first thing out of the box, was popcorn from ProperCorn. The flavour of this is Sweet and Salty, though apparently there was also Fiery Worcester Sauce & Sun-Dried Tomato. After that, came all the beauty products.

From the card:
TheBalm Cosmetics - How 'Bout Them Apples? Cheek & Lip Cream - An easy-to-blend cream that offers a gorgeous, long-lasting pop of colour to cheeks and lips. Dab onto the apples of cheeks and lips with fingertips.

Lord & Berry - Couture Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil - A sleek black kohl eyeliner pencil is a must-have accessory for eyes, no matter the season. Soften tip on the back of your hand and line eyes. Smudge as necessary.

Color Club - Gala's Gems Nail Polish - Our collaboration with London-based Spanish blogger, Gala Gonzalez, includes this pretty Birchbox-exclusive polish. Apply two thin layers - use base and top coat to extend longevity.

Tommyguns - Pomegranate & Orange Flower Shampoo - This refreshing shampoo is gentle enough for all hair types. Pomegranate protects, while orange flower adds shine. Massage into wet hair to create a fragrant foamy lather. Follow with conditioner.

One Love Organics - Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm - A do-it-all balm to remove make-up, cleanse and moisture skin. To cleanse, massage a small amount into face and remove with a damp cloth. To moisturise, apply directly to skin.

  1. I wish I'd got one! But the code you linked me to wouldn't work :(

BUT AMAZING CONTENTS! I LOVE THE BALM! I have two of their powder blushes and my every day eyeliner is by Lord & Berry! I also love Tommy Guns shampoo, and often use it when I can find it in a Boots.

Please let me know what the Beauty Balm is like, it looks awesome!
