Cohorted - Social Shopping website!

Have you heard about Cohorted? If not, where have you been for the last few months??

Cohorted has fast become one of my most visited/favourite sites. I first stumbled across it, during Easter Holidays, though I think it might possibly have been around for a week or so at that point. The basic concept is that every week at 6pm on Monday, 4 items are placed on the site for sale. The items are always beauty related and usually high-end and named brands. Technically these 4 items are available for 7 days - or until stock runs out.

Each item has a set starting price, but for each person who agrees to purchase said item, the price lowers. For example, there might be a mascara, starting at £10. Cohorted shows you how much of a discount is available on this item and where the item is at, within that discount period. While you may well agree to buy the mascara at £9.80, you won't be charged immediately - not until the Cohort has finished. When the stock runs out (at its maximum discount) the Cohort will close and you will be charged the lowest price that it ended at, not necessarily the price you had agreed to pay. However if the Cohort doesn't reach its highest discount, or run out of stock, you will have to wait until the following Monday at 6pm, for the Cohort to close in order for the next to begin.

I don't know if I'm explaining this very well, but perhaps if you look at the site, you'll see what I mean!

This week's items were: Revlon Colorstay Foundation (Nude), Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub, and Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray.

By the time I wrote this post, the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray was already closed. It started at 6pm, for £9.00 and closed about half an hour later at £6.75. All 16 people who bought it, would have been charged £6.75, no matter what price they agreed to buy it for. This is a 25% discount on RRP.

I have to admit I get pretty excited about Cohort on a Monday. I've even been known to set the alarm on my phone for 6pm, just so I can check what's available, before it runs out! In the past I have bought: Benefit They're Real Mascara, MAC Lipstick Viva Glam VI, Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, MAC False Lashes Mascara, Real Techniques Core Collection Kit, MAC Lipstick - Angel, and Urban Decay Triple Threat Travel Pencil Set. As well as getting to try these products at a great price, you also get to collect Loyalty points. For every pound you spend, you get 1 pence/1 point. You can save these, or use them whenever you wish, against another purchase. So far I've earned myself 119 points, which is £1.19.

Cohorted is such a great idea and while I'd love to keep it a secret so I always get the best bargains, the site thrives on lots of people all wanting the same item in order to bring down the price. If anyone wants to try named brands on their make up and beauty products, I definitely recommend you check out Cohorted! Not only that, but they have allowed me to bring you an awesome giveaway, which you can enter below!
