#LincsBlogMeet - Paperself Paperlashes

Over the next few weeks I'm going to be making posts, focusing on the different companies and brands that helped out and supported the #LincsBlogMeet. My first post is going to be about Paperself, a company who donated two sets of their Paperlashes, for raffle prizes at the Blog Meet.

These particular lashes are Deer and Butterfly, along with Merry-Go-Round.

PAPERSELF is a London brand looking into the innovative exploration of paper for contemporary product design. Challenging the conventions of product design, PAPERSELF has successfully introduced and launched their paper collections: paper eyelashes (2010), transformer table, lighting, and wallpaper (2009).

Launched in 2010, PAPERSELF lashes are an enchanting spin on the false lash. First of its kind and patent protected, these lashes can be customised and adapted to work for any occasion. Different to a normal lash, PAPERSELF lashes can be cut and played with for up 5 separate wears, with endless combinations to create different make-ups.

PAPERSELF Lashes are available in stunning collections, each unique in design and theme, symbolising individual meanings. The intricately designed lashes have been made to fit every eye-shape, each emphasising creating a unique and beautiful design on the eyes!

The British Collection:
PAPERSELF brings to you ‘British Collection’ a tribute to Britain’s craftsmanship, inventiveness and sprit. The essence has been conveyed using the iconic imagery with subtle cultural influences. This collection celebrates Queens Diamond Jubilee in U.K. and London taking the central stage for Olympic and Paralympic games.
The ‘London’ lashes represent the city skyline with iconic buildings like Tower Bridge, London Eye and Big Ben and ‘Rose’ the national flower of England is elegance in true fashion.

The Lace Collection: Lace Garden: Glamorous Elegance
‘The Lace Garden’ is the theme of the very first exclusive collaboration between PAPERSELF and the Victoria & Albert Museum. The Lace Collection launched in early September in the store and online. Given the brief of LACE by the V&A, the PAPERSELF team was inspired by French silk bobbin lace from the nineteenth century. The diverse and delicate floral patterns brought the theme of floral gardens to the PAPERSELF team’s imagination. With the refined lace patterns, exquisitely cut details and tactile structure, Lace Garden is a wonderful combination of vintage and contemporary design.

The Rocky Punk Collection
The collection of ‘The Rocky Punk’ created a pure contrast to other themes in The PAPERSELF portfolio. The Energetic punk eyelashes are designed with an abstracted feature of actual figures and a noticeable mysterious black appearance, giving an exaggerated visual impact that is dramatically infused in the design.

The Under the Sea Collection: Secret Treasures
The first collaborated project at PAPERSELF is with ‘The Broken Heart,’ the well known female DJ group with a worldwide reputation based in London. ‘The Broken Heart’ DJ’s not only produce good music but also represent fashion icons. Likewise, the journey of the creation of art is like the adventure of finding the secret treasure under the sea, hence the name of the Under the Sea Collection was formed.

The Wonderland Collection
This dainty collection of the forest and fairy tales expresses pure and innocent symbols. It encourages the pleasure of an enjoyable moment; dreaming of walking in the forest, surrounded by joyful feelings of happiness and going back in time to a place full of sweet memories.
It is a creative representation of pursuing happiness and utopia and an idealised perfection in our daily routine.

The Oriental Collection
This collection is the very first design of the PAPERSELF lashes and it is inspired by the art of Chinese paper cutting. A fusion of symbolic, oriental, traditional, cultural, and contemporary design characterizes the collection. Each oriental paper-cut false eyelash plays a role of a trendy fortuneteller, demonstrating the interesting combination between Chinese symbolic meaning and artistic beauty accessories.
