This week we made Christmas Pudding at mum's. It's long been a tradition in our family (family being even myself, my brother, my sister and my parents), to stir the Christmas Pudding and make a wish. For as long as I can remember, this tradition has passed on even to my kids too. My mum makes the pudding with a recipe she has had for years. She then adds the final ingredient - Guinness - and then everyone takes it in turns to stir and make a wish. It seems to have naturally fallen that we do it in age order and this year was no different. We went to mum's for lunch on Saturday and each took a turn to stir the pudding and make a wish. Sadly my wish was wasted as I wished to win the lottery - then forgot to play! I still got to drink the rest of the Guinness though so all was not lost!!
